"Let me give you some advice bastard, Never forget what you are. The rest of the world will not. Wear it like armour and it can be never used to hurt you. "

Well, when I looked at this show, I thought hmm this sounds interesting. Well, I was wrong it was not just amazing. At least for the first season, this is absolutely legendary. I have loved it.

1. The Starks

I have noticed that The Starks, are perceived in Series 1 as the ‘good family’ which I find interesting, although I like how it isn’t told to us in an obvious way. I like certain Stark characters, particularly Lord Eddard “Ned” Stark.  As an overview for all the characters, Jon Snow I like, because of his complex character he is an honourable man and yet he does not just follow and abide by rules without questioning them, very similar to his father Ned.
Robb Stark, I rather like because of his determination and seemingly focused mind, and I feel like he will be a very successful character in Game of Thrones, as he is already the ‘King of the North’. Catelyn Stark is very honourable as shown in The Vale, but I feel that her compassion and worrying mind may be a weakness in the Stark’s strengths, that being said she is a very likeable character.
Of course, the tragedy that fell, no pun intended haha at Winterfell. Bran Stark, of course, met his destiny to become unable to use his legs, to seemingly being introduced to a new destiny.
As for the young ladies, Sansa and Arya they have been through a lot at Kings Landing, Sansa seems to now be trapped in the politics of marrying the New King Joffrey. Arya is just a badass, and I love how authentic she is to who she is. Sansa, on the other hand, seems to be hiding her true intentions obviously as the scent of treason is still high.

2. The Lannisters

Now this family is a family of complex characters. I love the Lannisters characters. Tywin Lannister, by the way, is my favourite character so far, I like his driven motivated attitude to protect and grow the Family and House, and his philosophical wisdom. In particular with his conversation with his son Jaime.
Jaime seems to be the stereotypical cocky young man, who likes shiny things. That being said that complexity with the Mad King seems to go deep with him, and I feel as the Series goes by especially now he has been taken hostage by the Starks.
Cersei Lannister is I wouldn’t say cruel but she is certainly very reserved and does not go out of the way to help even ‘little doves’.  Then, of course, you have the legend that is Tyrion Lannister, the Imp as he is otherwise called in the series. His power of wordsmithing and his charisma is infectious and he is incredibly funny. Now he is Hand of the king! About time he gets some recognition from his father.

3. The Targaryens

I am just going to say now that the brother was stupid enough said. 🙂 Danerys become the Khalessi to Aquaman, and she unlike her brother earned respect and dragons! So it seems Robert Barthareon was right, to be fearful of the Targaryen House.
That’s all I really have to say, although I like the Eastern environment and I will take this moment that everything to do with graphics and setting is absolutely phenomenal.

4. The Small Council Chamber

5. Politics

6. Philosophy of Game of Thrones

There is an annoying stigma in society, that if you are selfless you are great and if you are selfish you are a horrible person. This form of assumption, that allows unkind people to take advantage of you – due to your social complexes on ‘what is right’.

How to solve this would be to solely focus on yourself. I know right so selfish! But you need to fill your own cup first as it were, before you start helping others. I am not saying to go out your way to be unkind to someone (even if they deserve it) but merely to prioritise yourself other everything else, and yes even your family.

The more you invest in yourself today – the more you will be able to help them in the future. In fact, helping yourself first will likely mean you will be in a much better position to help others more so then even if you were too selfless of your own needs and desires.

This topic is such a big one that I have wrote a separate blog post here – How to fulfil your needs.

Conclusion

To give you some suggestions that really benefited me through this obstacle. I want to recommend for you to start self-reflecting. Whether it be through…

– Journaling
– Reading Self-Help Books
– Reading Fiction Books
– Meditation
– Write your own story.

This will allow you to get what you read in theory, into practice. I want YOU, yes I am looking at you! To have a successful and happy and prosperous life! 😊

Until the Next Blog Post! Take Care and Look after yourself!!
